Oui, si vous êtes au chômage, vous pouvez toucher le RSA, mais à condition de remplir les conditions pour en bénéficier.

Le montant forfaitaire du RSA sera diminué du montant de l'allocation d'aide au retour à l'emploi (ARE).

Lors de votre demande de RSA, vous devez déclarer vos allocations chômage, c'est-à-dire les montants de l'ARE perçus et éventuellement vos autres revenus.

Si le montant de vos revenus est inférieur au montant forfaitaire du RSA, le RSA pourra représenter un complément aux allocations chômage.

 Exemple

Un demandeur d'emploi vivant seul sans enfant touche, pour unique revenu, 250 € par mois d'ARE. Pour une personne seule, le montant du RSA est de 607,75 €. Le demandeur d'emploi peut donc bénéficier du RSA pour un montant mensuel de 357,75 € (607,75 €-250 €).
